There are some awesome organizers in Calgary who really want to open it up and we have sufficient farmers both in Lethbridge and surrounding Calgary areas to start the market at least once a month, maybe every two weeks! Mark Entz from Britestone (Carbon) and James Van Voorst from Voorst Greenhouses (Monarch) will be speaking about their farms and their product/produce.
|
Britestone Farm produces non GMO Omega 3 Eggs (Calgary only at this point) and Angus Beef. Voorst greenhouse produces all the succulent tomatoes, peppers and other market garden veggies. They will be available starting May.
|
Ask away! Anything you wanted to know... they are here for you to share what it is like being on a farm, the challenges, the rewards and of course, the love of good wholesome food!

We are a small family with two young children living our dream on an acreage a few miles east of Picture Butte on Hiway 519. At Keep Dreamin' Acres we strive to provide our children and community with fresh produce and meats. We specialize in growing garlic for seed stock as well as human consumption. All of our seed is tested to make sure we have high quality product for our customer's peace of mind. This year we have also expanded into growing strawberries and are edging into the strawberry market by growing June bearing and day neutral plants to provide great tasting strawberries throughout the season. We raise several different types of animals so we have quality proteins to feed our family and customers. It is also a wonderful experience for our children to nurture our animals and watch them grow from babies to slaughter.
